the modern “motion picture” and its use in capturing child development milestones

Here’s a video of H. kind of crawl-scooting. Unfortunately, he has only figured out how to push himself backwards. This leads to grumpy half-crying, because clearly he wants to go forward. He’s just betrayed by his body.

And here’s one where he dances to Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock And Roll” in the middle of Ikea. Ikea — safe, corporate, Swedish — is the very opposite of rock and roll, so I have no idea why they were playing that song, but it was pretty amusing, anyway.

  1. IKEA not rock, Bob Seger not rock, it all equals out. And I dunno, it looks a bit more like DAD is the one dancing; the baby is just hanging there innocently kicking his feet.

More importantly, your baby’s head is amazingly cute — so big, so round, so utterly babyish!

  2. That’s one cute kid, guys.

  3. Wonderful – what a dancer – who needs to crawl forwards with moves like that?
