A couple of things of note this week. First, although H. still has very few spoken words, he has apparently decided to leap ahead in his linguistic development by signing two-word sentences like “more cracker” and “open drink.” This was a spontaneous, unilateral, and somewhat startling decision.
Second, he has started singing little songs. He has an illustrated book of “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” which we frequently read as I sing the song for him. The book is well-loved and falling apart. But now he has taken to flipping through it by himself, singing “Baa Baa Baa Baa….”
Okay, so he doesn’t know all the words. Or the tune.
